Writing Activities

Article Critique

Students will be allowed to select any article from the magazine found in the agriculture room. They are to read the article and answer the questions pertaining to its content. When completed, the students will present a short summary of the article to the class. The substitute teacher may evaluate their presentation on a scale of 1-10 with 1 being the lowest grade and 10 the highest.

Sample Resume

Using the sample resume, students will go to the IMC computer lab and create a personal resume for a professional management position at an agricultural marketing firm. The firm sells agricultural pharmeceuticals for beef production.

Predicting Phenotype

The traits of offspring are passed to them by their parents. Theses traits from parents are known as heredity. Every living organism has similarities and differences from its parents. The only exception is with cloning. Present the power point presentation to the students. When completed with the presentation, give them the handout and assignment and when completed, give the students the quiz over the presentation.
