Iowa-Grant Musical/Drama
The IGHS Drama Department produces a full-length show every year. We typically alternate between plays and musicals, and have performed shows of many different genres. We typically have a cast of up to 20 students and a stage crew of about 10. All IG students are welcome to audition for the cast or sign up for the stage crew!
Some of our memorable musicals from the past few years include Secrets Every Smart Traveler Should Know, Beauty and the Beast, Little Women, The Sound of Music, and the Wizard of Oz. Our recent plays include Clockwork, Charlotte's Web, A Christmas Carol, The Third Wave, and You Can't Take It With You. 2023 brought the drama performance of Clue and 2024 was an outstanding musical performance of The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
The season typically begins with auditions within the first week of the school year, and rehearsals beginning near the end of September. Performances are usually in early November, with one school performance and three ticketed performances for community audiences.
