Iowa-Grant Winter Cheer

The Iowa-Grant high school winter cheer program is a team where students get to really express their high school spirit. Besides cheering at games and meets, the winter cheerleaders spend a lot of time fundraising, creating posters for athlete’s lockers, and raising school spirit. There are two teams, basketball and wrestling.

Basketball Cheer: Basketball cheerleaders cheer on the court side while getting the student section involved and making sure the team and the stands are hyped. They should understand the basic rules of basketball so they can use the cheers that correlate with what’s happening in the game.

Wrestling Cheer: Wrestling cheerleaders cheer on the side of the wrestling mat. They do rhythm based cheers, using their hands, the floor, and sometimes other parts of their body to make noise. The cheerleaders do team and name cheers. This team goes to most of the tournaments and often gets to travel to state wrestling tournaments to cheer because of the amazing wrestling program.
