7th and 8th Graders teams traveled to SWTC in Fennimore to participate in the annual Quiz Bowl. This event is hosted by CESA 3.
Students were given 20 minutes to answer 30 questions for the individual contest. Congratulations to 7th grader Alayna E. and 8th grader Jacob G for earning second place at their grade level.
Teams then participated in a Jeopardy style competition. The 7th grade participants came home with 2nd place!
Congratulations to all the students that participated. You did a fine job representing Iowa-Grant!
Annual Iowa-Grant Toy Drive!
Celebrate the season of giving by sharing your new or gently used toys (please no stuffed animals!) and books with the families of the Iowa-Grant School District! If your child has outgrown a toy or that toy they had to have last year has been sitting on the shelf for the last 6 months, now is the time to send it to a new home where it can be loved by another child! Please make sure toys are in good shape and have all their pieces! Toys and books can be dropped off at IGEMS from November 28th through December 7th. We also will accept things for our older students such as new blankets, jewelry, craft kits, sports equipment, card games, etc… If you are interested in sending in a monetary donation please make checks out to the Iowa-Grant School District and mark the envelope Toy Drive. This money will be used to fill some of the specific wish list items.
Santa Sacks:
Families who are struggling financially and are concerned about providing for their families during the holiday season can sign up to receive a Santa Sack. Santa Sacks will be filled with new or gently used toys from our toy drive donations. If your family is in need of a Santa Sack please contact Darcy Breuer at dbreuer@igs.k12.wi.us to sign up before November 30th . Please include the following things in the email: your name and the best way to contact you, child(ren)’s age and gender, and a wish list of 2-3 items for each child. Staff members will make up a Santa Sack for your family and you will be notified when your sack is ready to pick up at the school.

Another leading senior this year is Caitlyn W. She has become a strong, assertive performer since her freshman year. Caitlyn played Ellie, Katherine’s daughter in the story. Caitlyn had a huge role to prepare, and handled the demands of her role with maturity and confidence. During rehearsals, Caitlyn was a strong leader, providing motivation whenever it was needed. Congratulations, Caitlyn!
Iowa-Grant game night workers are the unsung heroes of high school event/game nights! Thank you to all the dedicated people who make sure the athletic games and events go on all season, every year by selling tickets, cleaning up before/after events, crowd control, operating scoreboards and doing game books, & so much more! #IGPantherPride
The crew for our musical are all the students that work behind the scenes. Multiple teams of students help to operate the lights and sound, manage the props and costumes, and paint the set pieces in the background. Unfortunately, being behind the scenes means it’s harder to capture them in a photo! Thanks to the crew for helping make this show unforgettable.

New to the IMC this year was a full 7-member pit orchestra! Since the music in this show was so challenging, and since many of our band students were already in the cast and crew, we put together 7 adult musicians, most of whom are current or former music teachers! Having a full pit orchestra really helped us go above and beyond with our show this year.
The cast for the musical is made up of all the people you see on stage. Students with lead roles have plenty of solo parts and lead the rest of the cast on stage. Supporting roles are smaller, but still offer students plenty of challenges and opportunities to bring a character to life. Ensemble roles may seem small at first, but a solid, hardworking ensemble can really bring a show to the next level. In our musical this year, the many supporting and ensemble roles made it possible for every student to make their character their own!
