A beautiful morning was spent on the Volenec farm with our I-G students today. They have happy calves and cows and entertainment too. The students enjoyed visiting the playful sheep and watching the ducklings wander around the farm. A big thank you again Volenec family for the tour. Who knows, we may have some future farmers.

INTERESTED IN FALL CHEER? If you are interested in joining our fall cheer team, there are a few things that I need you to do. Please make sure that you and your parent/guardian have completed the athletic forms that can be found under the Forms tab in PowerSchool. This does include getting your physical completed if it is your first or third year of participating in HS athletics OR submitting your alternate-year form if you had a physical last year. TWO FORMS THAT NEED TO BE COMPLETED IN FULL: I-G Athletics Registration Form I-G Athletics Waivers and Acknowledgements A student can not participate in activities unless the two forms are completed on the Parent Portal. Parents and students should log into the PowerSchool Parent Portal at https://igsd.powerschool.com and click on “forms” along the left hand side. If you are unable to login, contact the HS office and someone can assist you with your login information. The Athletic Physical Permit can be uploaded via the portal. If only an alternate year permit is required, that information can be completed online ~ no upload is necessary. Email me at ErinReddy-Wolff@igs.k12.wi.us to let me know that you are planning to join us. I will be emailing you information about uniforms and some other items that will be important to return to me ASAP. Join me at our first practice on Monday, August 16th, at 3:30 pm in Room 100 at IGEMS. You will need the typical clothes that you wear to exercise, including tennis shoes. Pay attention, Iowa-Grant! The cheer team is ready to get you up on your feet and moving the stands this year, and there's no better year than 2021 to pour a bit more spirit into our student body. Let's go, let's go, L-E-T-S G-O! Let's 👏👏👏 go 👏👏👏!

Thank you to Dave Cook for helping our 3rd and 4th grade students learn about the ever so popular Christmas trees sold at Cook’s Woods. Thousands of trees grow each year to become a family’s special guest the month of December. A lot of work goes into those trees, from pruning to shaping and shedding pinecones. It’s a year round job.

7 foot trees are the most popular height. When these students are in HS the small trees will be ready for a home.

Meet Oscar Mayer! This is Elyse L.’s Iowa County fair show pig. She has been busy caring for and spoiling this pig all summer! He is so sweet, gentle and loves being scratched behind the ears and on the belly. Keep up the great work, Elyse! Good luck at the Iowa County Fair!

Another wonderful farm visit happened Monday at the Brokopp Family Farm! Bode has been working on his family farm ever since he could walk. He has a strong passion for farming and enjoys milking, feeding, and caring for his family’s herd of dairy cattle. On their farm, they milk 70+ cows, sell eggs from their chickens, and raise their dairy show steers. Here is Bode with his show steer, Bandit, that he will be exhibiting at the Iowa County Fair. Good luck at the fair, Bode!
