Last week Mrs. Hammerly visited Julia S. on her family farm, Heartwood Farm. Julia is currently taking care of her 4 show pigs that will be showed this summer at the Wisconsin State Fair and Iowa County Fair along with several dairy heifers that will also be exhibited at several shows throughout the summer. Julia also helps her family care for their beef herd. Good luck at your upcoming shows, Julia!

2021-2022 Athletic Forms will need to be completed on PowerSchool Parent Portal for all student/athletes this year.
TWO FORMS THAT NEED TO BE COMPLETED IN FULL:
I-G Athletics Registration Form
I-G Athletics Waivers and Acknowledgements
A student can not participate in activities unless the two forms are completed, on the Parent Portal.
Parents should log into the PowerSchool Parent Portal at https://igsd.powerschool.com and click on “forms” along the left hand side.
If you are unable to login, contact the HS office and someone can assist you with your login information.
The Athletic Physical Permit can be uploaded via the portal. If only an alternate year permit is required, that information can be completed online ~ no upload is necessary.

These smiling faces had a great week learning a few essential life skills in baking, fractions and cleaning up. I hope their families enjoyed their efforts this week. The aromas were enjoyed by many staff in the building, too.

Summer school? Summer fun!! Thank you to the Stuart and Meghan Brokopp family, Jen and Jerry Volenec and family and Dave Cook from Cook's Christmas Tree farm for letting our small crew of 3rd and 4th grade students visit life on your farm. We had so much fun and appreciate the time you took to show us the wonderful agriculture in our neighborhood. The smiles were endless.

Thanks to GENYOUth we have thermal covers, coolers and carts for distributing food! #ForSchoolsSake

Last week, Mrs. Hammerly got to visit Ella Z. on her family farm where they raise grass-fed beef cattle. They raise two different breeds of cattle - Aberdeen and Irish Dexter. Both are smaller framed animals and finish well on grass using rotational grazing. On her farm, they have more than 30 acres of native prairie grasses and flowers and have planted more than 30,000 evergreen and hardwood trees on their property.
