On Friday February 23rd, Georgia H, Corynne H, Zoe R, Sadie S, Sophie V and Mr. Schilling traveled to Platteville High School to participate in Iowa-Grant’s first Visual Arts Classic competition. Students created long term projects to bring to the competition as well as competed in a quiz bowl, a critical thinking challenge, and an onsite art project. We received a 3rd place in the quiz bowl challenge and all of the students received a 1st either on their onsite project, long term project, or both and are moving onto State Visual Arts Classic held at UW- - Madison at the end of March. #WE ARE IG!
There will be a show animal clinic opportunity next week at Iowa-Grant High School. The clinic will take place on March 6th at 6 PM in the Ag Classroom. This event is sponsored by Reddy Ag and Ross Soil Service and Show Rite Feeds. This clinic is open to anyone that has interests in show lambs, goats, and pigs. You do not currently have to be buying products from Reddy/Ross, nor do you need to be feeding Show Rite feeds. This is a feeding and management clinic to help kids and families with the overall experience of show projects. We will have a break in the program for pizza and drinks, supper is on us! Please RSVP to Casey Lobdell at 608-822-5360 by March 6th at NOON.
National FFA week is celebrated each February and to help celebrate Community First Bank held a bake sale with proceeds being donated to the Iowa-Grant FFA. In addition, the FFA is this month’s branch spotlight featuring the history and accomplishments of this great organization!
National FFA Week was celebrated at Iowa-Grant High School from February 19-23. To kick off the week, the FFA Officer Team planned and organized our annual Ag Olympics Tradition. It wouldn't be FFA week without the Chicken Feed Races, Roping, Cow Pie Eating Contest, FFA Official Dress Relay, Pig Pile, Egg Toss, and Kick the Stick competitions. The Junior Class was the winner of this year's Ag Olympics and they will be receiving an Ice Cream Party in the Ag Room next week!
Come out for some laughs on March 8th at Dodgville High School and cheer on the Iowa-Grant FFA Chapter! Tickets are for sale in advance - $10 each. Contact Mrs. Hammerly (lhammerly@igs.k12.wi.us) to purchase your tickets. I-G FFA will get to keep $1 per ticket sold in advance. We hope to see you there!

Holly Allen has received the Influential Educator Award from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Mrs. Allen is our seventh-grade English teacher here at Iowa-Grant Middle School. The award recognizes her for her influence on one of her former students to become an educator. Congratulations Mrs. Allen!

It's almost that time of year, for 3rd - 8th Grade Baseball and Softball to start. Click on the link below to register your student.
