Congratulations to Ashton S. and Cyle S. on being selected for SWAL All Conference Boys Basketball Team.

Due to inclement weather days, IGSD will be eliminating the Friday 2:00 early release times in April and May. Therefore, Fridays will be full instructional days, beginning April 14th. Note, Friday, May 5th will now be an instructional day instead of a professional development day. An updated 2022-2023 School Calendar can be viewed at https://5il.co/svzu Note: IGSD will be closed on April 7th (Good Friday) & May 29th (Memorial Day).

Iowa-Grant T-Ball and Coach Pitch sign up for ages 4K- 2nd grade is open. Registration closes in April. Please visit the Summer Rec. page on the school website for more details.

Students in Mrs. Heimsoth's 6th grade science class enjoyed using the microscopes to look at a number of different specimens. The groups did a great job using team work to get their specimen in focus.

Students had a belated, brief, mischevious visit from Thing 1 and Thing 2 at IGEMS today!

Recently, the 4th grade class wrote about their favorite breakfast. Some of the students favorites are omelets, coffee cake, waffles and more waffles! Whether we eat breakfast at home or in school, it's a great way to power our day.

Dear Parents, Guardians, and District Staff:
To aid families and staff in planning for childcare and commuting, I am sending out this notice that there is a high probability that school will be released early tomorrow, March 9, 2023.
Based upon the forecast today, we estimate a 1:30 PM dismissal time, though this might be moved earlier if the storm tracks faster. We expect to issue a confirmation of the early release time around 10:00 AM tomorrow.
We are in regular contact with the La Crosse office of the National Weather Service who reports medium-high confidence in the timing of the onset of the storm for the Iowa-Grant School District and a high confidence in the amount of snow per hour, which will make travel hazardous mid to late afternoon tomorrow.
No decision is more difficult than one that affects the safety of our students and staff. We want to ensure that everyone can arrive safely home before the worst of the storm hits tomorrow.
Michael Shimshak
Iowa-Grant Superintendent
