It was a beautiful week for practicing softball skills during summer school. Students took to the field and practiced throwing, pitching, catching, and hitting skills.

Our last science lesson was all about density. We used water, oil, and food coloring to create our very own lava lamps!

#3 What a great gardening week we had at summer school! We ended our time together by making fairy gardens. Thank you to the Schultz family for donating the beautiful flowers. They were the perfect touch!

Two superintendent candidate forums will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 in the IGEMS cafeteria at the Iowa-Grant Elementary/Middle School. The Candidate Forums are designed to provide citizens of the school district an opportunity to ask questions of final candidates for the position of District Administrator of the Iowa-Grant School District.
These forums are open to the public and will be moderated to comply with hiring guidelines for candidate questions. It is our hope that individuals attending these forums would be able to attend both forums for the two candidates. The schedule is as follows:
5:30 p.m. Michael Shimshak-former Head of School Beijing Haidian Kaiwen Academy and former Tigerton and Lodi, Wisconsin Superintendent, and Carbondale, Illinois Superintendent.
6:45 p.m. Jennifer Gallagher-current Iowa-Grant Elementary and Middle School Principal, former Wauzeka-Steuben K-12 Pupil Services Director, and former Southwestern School District Elementary and Middle School Principal and Pupil Services Director.
After the candidates present brief information about themselves, there will be opportunity to ask questions. You may submit a potential question in advance by sending the question to Cathy Kohlenberg at ckohlenberg@igs.k12.wi.us or by calling her at (608) 943-6311, extension 3014. Questions must be submitted by noon on Monday, June 27, 2022.
Note: A majority or negative quorum of the Iowa-Grant School Board (and/ or committees of the board) may be in attendance at this meeting, in which case the gathering would constitute a meeting of the school board (and/or of board committees).

Iowa-Grant is offering Sports Physical days in July. All fall athletes need to have physical or alternate card paperwork loaded in PowerSchool or to the school office before August 1st.

Today's science class was all about water! One of the questions we explored, was how polar bears and other arctic animals stay warm in the ice cold water.

LAST CHANCE to pick up your IGEMS yearbook. We have yearbooks available until Thursday in the IGEMS office.

We made topsy turvy tomato plants in our garden class. Thank you to the Rech family for donating tomato plants.

Day 2 of the 93rd Wisconsin State FFA Convention is wrapping up. Our FFA members got to attend several workshops, sessions, and walk around the FFA expo talking with colleges and agriculture companies and supporters. One of the workshops they attended was about Food Science! The students got to make and try their very own butter. Yum!
