During the month of July, Mrs. Hammerly stays busy visiting her FFA members and Ag students on their farms and/or ag related jobs! Jonah W. will be Freshman this fall, and he works on his family farm caring for goats, sheep, chickens, and pheasants. Bode B. will be a Sophomore this fall and an FFA officer. He works on his family dairy farm with milking and chores. This year he will be showing his dairy steer at the Iowa County Fair. His steer loves to eat marshmallows as a treat. Evie W. will be a Senior this year and an FFA officer. She will also be showing a dairy steer at the Iowa County Fair. This is Evie’s first year showing dairy steers, and she is enjoying the experience and all that she is learning. Great work to all of these students!

It was all fun and games in France today! We were inspired by Vincent Van Gogh and created our own Starry Night paintings. We also played two French games, Escargot (a snail version of hopscotch) and Jeu de la Barbichette (Game of the Goatee) where we had to try with all our might not to giggle while holding our partners chin for the duration of a short song. It was harder than we thought!

The students in the card making summer school class have been working hard and having fun. Each student has created 2-3 cards a day. Students have also enjoyed making a journal made from scrap paper and string. Tomorrow, students will make baseball cards and holiday gift tags.

Next stop, Italy! We learned all about Italian foods and even made our own pizza! We also learned that contrary to popular belief, Michelangelo did not paint the Sistine Chapel on his back. We still had fun giving it a try!

Around the world we go! Today's travels took us to China, where we learned about The Great Wall of China and the celebrations of Chinese New Year. We even made our own dragon puppets. We can't wait to see where our adventures will take us tomorrow!

Today, in fairy tale summer school, we read The Three Little Pigs. Then we tried our hand at building a house made of straw(s), sticks (lincoln logs) and bricks (Mega Blocks). We huffed and puffed but could not blow these houses down!

The Iowa-Grant FFA spent their Sunday at Farmer’s Appreciation Day in Dodgeville. At the event, they handed out FREE cheese samples donated by Hook’s Cheese of Mineral Point and strawberry, chocolate, and white milk donated by Kwik Trip. They also handed out children coloring book, reading materials, and beef and pork recipes. Dairy promotion tattoos were also applied to many excited children. Special thank you to all of the donors!
