Good morning, IG! Congratulations to our Track and Field athletes who qualified for the Sectional Meet during Monday night’s Regional meet at River Ridge!
Sectionals will be on Thursday at Bangor, with field events starting at 3:30 and running events starting at 4:15!

Iowa-Grant Retiree Spotlight - Sue Anderson
The Iowa-Grant School District takes all threats of violence in any form seriously and as a matter of protocol takes immediate action when threats are received. To ensure student safety and school security, we engage law enforcement as we investigate and assess the level of risk to guide our response.
Responsive to Social Media Posts about Threats at Iowa-Grant Middle School
The school district has and continues to work under the guidance of legal counsel and in cooperation with law enforcement regarding an incident that took place outside of school, during non-school hours. The incident did not have any nexus to the school aside from involving students who attend the school and an area school. All student records are protected under the Family Education Privacy Act (FERPA) and therefore staff may not release or be aware of the information. This is a law enforcement investigation and not a school incident, therefore the school district did not issue and cannot issue any further statements.
Threats reported at Iowa-Grant High School
On May 16, 2024, a report of a student making threatening statements was provided to school officials. The investigation and threat assessment concluded the threat to be of low risk. Most of what was reported could not be corroborated, or verified, and was deemed unactionable by law enforcement, but did merit school-issued disciplinary action.
On May 17, 2024, reports of further statements by the same subject raised the level of concern with the school’s administration, who again, immediately contacted law enforcement. The student alleged to have made the threats had already been isolated from the student body. An investigation is ongoing, and school is being held without the need for lockdown or further security measures.
School security is a shared responsibility of the school, parents, students, and the broader community. If you become aware of any threats or concerning statements, we encourage you to contact the school and or law enforcement immediately.
