The freshman English classes recently finished reading October Sky by Homer Hickam. Throughout the novel, Homer and his friends teach themselves how to design, build, and refine their rockets in hopes of competing in the science fair. At the end of the unit, I-G students had the chance to put those same skills into practice by constructing their own rockets. Awards were presented to the groups with the most effective designs and the highest-flying rockets. Congrats to the winners!
